IPEEAT (electric pumping)
"IRRIGATION PUMPING ENERGY EFFICIENCY ASSESSMENT TOOL"
IPEEAT (Elect) is a basic energy assessment screening tool developed by Tallemenco to assess the overall energy efficiency of an irrigation pumping and pipeline system with electrically powered pumps.
This ELECTRIC PUMPING version is based on best practice pumping and pipeline design and installation, with a conservative interpretation.
(A DIESEL PUMPING version, DIPEC, or Diesel Irrigation Pumping Energy Efficiency, has been developed. Look for DIPEC in the drop down menu under Software.)
IPEEAT has been developed for agricultural, horticultural, viticulture, turf, golf, large landscape and aquaculture pumping and irrigation systems.
It assesses the combined overall energy efficiency of an irrigation system, including pump efficiency, off BEP and pipeline and irrigation head loss component (otherwise known as hydraulic efficiency).

Generally, assessed energy savings of >15% using IPEEAT are worth considering for further investigation. The higher the ML/annum pumped, the lower the % energy savings value worth investigating.
In this case, Tallemenco's more advanced IPEEATpro software will identify where energy losses are occurring.
Results yielding a negative potential saving will most likely be due to over optimisation of pipeline hydraulics and/or an ultra efficient pump. Either way, that would represent a very energy efficient irrigation pumping system.
IPEEAT is technically accurate, but based on an hydraulic model based on best practice design. However, inaccuracies will occur if the data entered is not correct. Ie, GIGO. The largest errors are likely to occur in the assessment of annual power consumption and ML/annum pumped, especially if there is no flow meter.
